Type-approval of lighting devices

As desginated technical service for the type-approval of vehicles and vehicle components, we also test lighting and light-signalling devices according to the requirements of:

• UN ECE regulations
• EU regulations
• Technical requirements for vehicle parts during type testing in accordance with Section 22a of the German Vehicle Licensing Regulations (StVZO)

In doing so, we support you throughout the entire type-approval process.

In addition to the tests in the type-approval process, we offer you:

• Support in the manufacturer’s initial assessment required for the type-approval process
• Testing of your series production parts as verification of conformity of production (CoP)
• Testing of headlights for the individual approval of imported vehicles “Etwa-Wirkung” – approximate effect in accordance with Section 21 StVZO or Section 13 EG-FGV
• Testing of prototypes approval of individual parts in accordance with Section 13 FzTV
• Training courses and seminars, also in the form of in-house training on request

The type-approval testing of lighting and light-signalling devices is carried out by Photometrik GmbH. Photometrik GmbH is a partner within the DLG TestService GmbH expert homologation network. It is included as a site in DLG’s designation as a technical service for the type-approval testing of lighting and light-signalling devices by Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA-P 00020-19).
