With the ‘Milk Elite Ribbon’, the DLG supports the efforts of dairies and farmers to ensure animal-friendly dairy cow husbandry, optimum milk quality and professional herd management. Use the DLG quality award to document your intensive commitment to the special raw material quality of milk, which you can also use in consumer communication. Farmers and dairies that register their milk suppliers are eligible to participate. The participation fee per farm is only payable if the award is successful.
Basis for assessment
- The germ content must not exceed 20,000 per cm³, calculated as the geometric mean over two months.
- The somatic cell count must not exceed 250,000 cells per cm³, calculated as the geometric mean over three months.
- The freezing point must not exceed the limit value of –0.515 degrees Celsius in any monthly assessment.
- Inhibitors must not be detectable in general (including in the context of delivery checks by dairies).
