For over 140 years, the DLG has been making a significant contribution to promoting and ensuring quality in the food and beverage sectors. DLG TestService offers a comprehensive range of expertise in this field – from in-depth methodology and expert integration to renowned quality awards and internationally recognised certificates.

DLG TestService works in close cooperation with a cross-industry network of experts from practice and science. There are specialist commissions for each product group, whose members continuously develop the testing methods and quality-related criteria. The testing methods are based on scientifically recognised, self-developed standards that cover sensory, analytical and other quality aspects.

Successfully tested products receive awards that are among the most prestigious in Germany and internationally. These include the ‘DLG – tested quality’ seal of approval, the DLG animal welfare label and quality awards in the wine sector. Comprehensive certification services for food and beverages complete the range of services offered by DLG TestService.

The DLG 

Innovation, quality and knowledge for agriculture and food

The DLG (German Agricultural Society), founded in 1885, stands for productivity and resource conservation in a sustainable and innovation-friendly agricultural and food value chain. The DLG's goal is to promote progress through the transfer of knowledge, quality and technology. The DLG has more than 31,000 members, is a non-profit organisation, politically independent and internationally networked.

As one of the leading organisations in its sector, the DLG organises trade fairs and events in the fields of agriculture and food technology and tests food, agricultural technology and operating resources. With its specialist centre for agriculture and food and the media of the DLG publishing house, the DLG stands for independent knowledge transfer. In addition, the DLG works in numerous national and international expert committees to develop solutions for the challenges facing the agricultural, agri-food and food industries.
