DLG certifications at a glance

The DLG conducts product and process tests in the food sector based on recognised scientific methods and defined quality standards. On this page, you will find the awards we present in this area.

Product testing

The award is based on the proven DLG quality test with product group-specific test criteria, including sensory analysis, laboratory tests and an assessment of preparation, packaging and labelling.

DLG – tested quality | DLG – tested annually

The ‘DLG – tested quality’ seal of quality has always stood for the tested quality of food. Our awards are based on a scientifically developed evaluation system. The sensory criteria of taste, smell, appearance and consistency are assessed. Packaging and labelling checks as well as laboratory tests are also included in the overall evaluation. The assessment is carried out by independent experts.

DLG Classics

Products that have successfully participated in DLG quality tests for at least five consecutive years are awarded the ‘DLG Classic’ distinction. The reference year is the first successful award year. Use of the mark is automatically extended through successful annual participation in the respective DLG quality test.

Food products that have received a DLG award can also be tested for special properties or product promises. With ‘DLG claims’, food producers can benefit even more from the expertise of DLG experts and the high profile of the quality awards.
