Testing and services

DLG TestService tests all types of animal identification tags, floors and floor coverings for animal husbandry, measures to reduce emissions from agriculture (exhaust air purification systems and other emission reduction measures), stable construction components from the building envelope to stable equipment, stable technology and lighting, as well as operating and feed materials.

The tests are carried out in accordance with national and international norms and standards, as well as DLG's own test specifications derived from practical experience, some of which are prerequisites for access to international investment support programmes.

Internationally recognised

  • ICAR, CCIA, PAS: The only globally recognised testing laboratory for electronic and conventional animal identification tags.
  • Netherlands: The funding guidelines for the Maatlat Duurzame Veehouderij programme refer to DLG certificates and test reports..
  • Austria: Within the scope of the approval of livestock housing facilities, the DLG has been designated as a testing laboratory for conducting practical tests on animal welfare.
  • DLG-approved floor coverings support farmers in Switzerland and the Netherlands with investment promotion.

Tests for floor elements are standard

For years, DLG TestService has been setting national and international standards with its regular testing of floor coverings. The laboratory tests have been incorporated into the German industrial standards DIN 3762, DIN 3763 and DIN 7861 and have also influenced international standardisation for floor coverings in animal husbandry, such as the ISO standard 22941.
