Animal identification devices are specifically tested according to the ICAR standard. This includes testing the material composition and durability, as well as the readability of barcodes or visual markings. In addition, legibility conformance according to ISO 24631-1 and legibility performance according to ISO 24631-3 are tested.
DLG TestService experts certify animal identification devices according to the product-specific DLG quality standard. In addition to the defined criteria of this efficacy test, further product characteristics can be tested and certified. Animal identification devices that pass the tests are awarded the DLG quality seal.
All DLG-certified agricultural inputs are subject to continuous monitoring. Consistent product quality is ensured through regular repeat tests or analyses. In addition, spot checks are carried out at the manufacturer or in retail.
