The Test Center Technology and Farm Inputs of DLG TestService GmbH is an ICAR-accredited testing laboratory that assists manufacturers with testing animal identification devices for ICAR certification.
This includes all investigations within the framework of an ISO certification of the conformity and performance of electronic animal identification tags according to ISO standards 11784 and 11785, as well as the pre-tests and laboratory tests of conventional and electronic animal identification devices within the framework of an ICAR certification.
The latter, in the field of electronic animal identification devices, include testing for RFID conformance (ISO 24631-1) and RFID performance (ISO 24631-3). In addition, mechanical tests are performed to assess material composition and durability, as well as visual or machine readability (printing or barcode).
In accordance with an agreement with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Community, the DLG maintains a central register of all animal identification devices approved under EU Regulations 2021/520 and 2021/963 for Germany. This list can be found here.
Animal identification tags that have been successfully ICAR-certified can receive our "DLG REQUIREMENTS FULFILLED" label. The same applies to products that have been successfully tested according to the aforementioned EU implementing regulations. This label signifies the proven conformity of a product with defined standards and regulatory requirements.
