At the Test Center Technology and Farm Inputs in Groß-Umstadt, manufacturers can have fuel consumption measurements carried out on tractors and other commercial vehicles compared to competitors' machines on the DLG chassis dynamometer. We analyse and assess the fuel consumption in cooperation with the manufacturers' technology specialists and identify possible improvement potentials. The data and findings that are obtained provide the manufacturers with a neutral evaluation of their tractor and enable benchmarking against the competition's tractors.
Services
In Groß-Umstadt, DLG TestService offers one of the world’s most powerful all-wheel drive chassis dynamometers for measuring the performance and consumption of heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Consumption and performance measurements on tractors
- Consumption and performance measurements on other commercial vehicles and trucks
- Measurement of the entire electric power consumption efficiency chain of electric and hybrid vehicles
Benchmarking tests on the DLG chassis dynamometer
The fuel and AdBlue consumption of tractors and other commercial vehicles with up to around 1,000 hp can be tested on the chassis dynamometer. For the test, the machines are stood on four steel rollers, each with a diameter of 2 m, that can be driven and braked using electric motors. The rollers can be adjusted between 2.05 m and 6.00 m to set them to the necessary axle spacing. The maximum axle load is 30 t, i.e. a maximum total tractor or commercial vehicle weight of 60 t. The maximum tractive power that can be transferred per wheel is 135 kN.
