As a German OECD testing body, DLG TestService tests agricultural and forestry tractors and their components in accordance with the requirements of the OECD Tractor Codes in the areas of performance and consumption measurement (Tractor Code 2) and measurement of noise at the driving position(s) (Tractor Code 5).
- OECD Tractor Code 2: Testing the performance of agricultural and forestry tractors
- OECD Tractor Code 5: Noise measurement at the operator’s positionz
Overview of all testing services according to OECD Tractor Codes
OECD Tractor Code 2: testing of agricultural and forestry tractor performance
The performance testing of agricultural and forestry tractors is conducted on DLG test benches in accordance with OECD Tractor Code 2 'Testing of agricultural and forestry tractor performance.' It includes measurements of lifting forces at the front and rear linkages, as well as PTO, hydraulic, and drawbar performance.
To assess energy efficiency, a full DLG PowerMix test is carried out, consisting of 12 field cycles and 2 transport cycles.
OECD Tractor Code 5: measurement of noise at the driving position(s)
As what are called comfort measurements, the measurements of noise at the driving position(s) are carried out on the basis of OECD Tractor Code 5 'Measurement of noise at the driving position(s)' and are evaluated in accordance with the corresponding requirements. The results of an OECD testing body are recognised.
Mobile DLG test bench: drawbar power test truck
In parallel with its chassis dynamometer, DLG also operates a drawbar power test truck. This test truck can not only be used to measure the tractive power and fuel consumption of tractors in accordance with OECD Tractor Code 2; DLG also uses this test tool to support manufacturers in various analyses and validation tests during development. It also enables measurement runs to be carried out on site at manufacturers
Test report database with free downloads
The OECD Tractor Code 2 test reports for tractors tested on the DLG chassis dynamometer can be downloaded free of charge from the OECD homepage.
DLG TestService: official testing body for OECD Tractor Codes
As a German OECD testing body, DLG TestService tests agricultural and forestry tractors and their components in accordance with the requirements of the OECD Tractor Codes. We are currently cooperating with 30 OECD testing bodies in Europe, Asia and the USA that ensure compliance with the OECD standards.
- The OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) Tractor Codes are globally valid industrial standards outside of ISO standardisation and therefore support the expansion of global trade, the free movement of goods and capital and the harmonisation of product standards.
- The OECD Tractor Codes meet the European Union's type approval requirements and are recognised in the type approval process.
- The approval process is processed together with the OECD coordinating centre. OECD approvals are recognised in 27 states, including 5 non-OECD member states (Brazil, China, India, Russian Federation and Serbia).
